One California Job Summary and Responsibilities Our busy Pharmacy Department is seeking a skilled and reliable Pharmacy Tech to join our team. The successful candidate will assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medications to patients, ensuring that they are accurate and delivered on time. They will also be responsible for managing inventory, processing prescriptions, and handling customer inquiries.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least six (6) months of experience in hospital pharmacy with unit dose cassette filling required.
  • IV additive experience, or equivalent of one year general pharmacy experience, required.
  • California Board of Pharmacy Technician Licensure required.
  • Fire Safety card required.
  • This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the pharmacist in the preparation of all sterile parenteral and irrigation products.
  • Exchange all unit-dose cassettes.
  • Utilizing a computerized fill list, provide a 24-hour patient supply of unit-dose medication in an individual cassette.
  • Complete the accurate charge/credit notation for use by the data entry clerk.
  • Accurately and legibly label all medication containers per established label format.
  • Properly completes all extemporaneous pre-pack and manufacturing logs.
  • Replenish stock for the unit dose cassette areas, and return credited medications for future use.
  • Participate in technician cassette checking procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
