Requirements

  • Must meet all of the requirements of a Technician II.
  • Three years of experience in a related area or equivalency, with one of those years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
  • Current Pharmacy Technician licensure in the State of Utah.
  • Additional license requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in word processing.
  • Knowledge of creating and using spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the daily operations of the assigned division including assigning work, scheduling and monitoring training, ensuring regulatory measures are followed and planning work schedules to maximize patient care and efficiency.
  • Oversees human resource activities such as interviewing, hiring, orienting and training, initiate discipline, evaluating performance and verifying payroll.
  • Resolves problems, provides support and expedites customer service to patients and hospital departments.
  • Monitors the assigned division's safety and quality assurance functions.
  • Initiates and updates training standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinates training activities and assures compliance with training expectations.
  • Participates in the development and management of the assigned division budget and jointly forecasts capital, staffing and budgetary needs.
  • Perform essential functions of a Technician II.
  • Ability to enforce the assigned division's written standards of practice, policies and procedures and initiate corrective action as necessary.
  • Ability to evaluate job performances to insure assigned division job standards are being maintained and taking action to correct problems.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holiday shifts.
  • Ability to quickly learn new procedures and process.
  • Able to prioritize and multi task in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to develop relationships with patients, students and coworkers.
  • Have knowledge of HIPPA regulations to insure patient information is guarded and respected.
  • Ability to cover open shifts when required.
  • Ability to read and interpret reports generated from pharmacy technology to do quality assurance projects.
  • Monitors, orders and maintains stock of assigned division supplies and equipment.
  • Ability to do minor repairs and monitor pharmacy automation for proper function and needed repairs.
