About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician at Sam's Club is responsible for supporting the pharmacy operations by processing member purchases, maintaining merchandise presentation, and assisting in the prescription fulfillment process. This role involves ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures while providing excellent customer service to members. The technician will also handle third-party insurance claims and maintain accurate records of prescriptions and member interactions.

Requirements

• Meets all state requirements to work as a Pharmacy Technician, including age, qualification, registration, certification, and/or licensure.
• Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB (PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT) within 9 months of job entry.

Responsibilities

• Process member purchases by operating cash registers and related hardware.
• Maintain merchandise presentation in the pharmacy by stocking and rotating merchandise and supplies.
• Handle claims and returns in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Monitor and resolve problems in the prescription fulfillment process.
• Assist the pharmacist in the prescription fulfillment process and provide patient/member service.
• Enter prescription data into pharmacy software accurately.
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving orders and preparing medications as needed.
• Provide member assistance during prescription pick-up and verify patient information.
• Complete work assignments and priorities by collaborating with team members and managers.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics.
