The position involves assisting the Pharmacist in the operations of the pharmacy, providing patient counseling, assisting with prescription transfers, and ensuring appropriate customer service in compliance with federal and state laws as well as store policies and procedures.

  • Fill prescriptions in compliance with all laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures regarding the sale of pharmaceuticals.
  • Retrieve products, count, pour or measure out the required quantity, and affix the label permanently to the container.
  • Respond to telephone requests from customers, physicians, and vendors, deferring to the pharmacist when necessary.
  • Communicate and cooperate with peers, subordinates, managers, physicians, and customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Assist with monthly CII audits.
  • Understand correct procedures for billing, filling, and dispensing products.
  • Ensure timely implementation of company policies, procedures, and programs; enforce professional and operational standards.
  • Maintain all state and federal record keeping for controlled substances.
  • Stock pharmacy product orders to specific bay locations.
  • Help train other pharmacy technicians and abide by state regulations regarding technician training and licensure.
  • Maintain inventory levels to company goals, rotate stock, and utilize RX return process.
  • Adhere to Department Appearance Standards (DAS) and dress code standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, Store Director, Pharmacy Operations Manager, Corporate Management.
  • Participate in all company sponsored programs.
  • Must complete continuing education hours as required by law.
  • Ability to readily adapt to changes in schedule specifications and work priorities as the business and customer needs demand.
  • Ability to cooperate with others and work as part of a team.
  • Must complete all required state, federal and company training programs (i.e., HIPAA, Methamphetamine, FWA, I-pledge, etc.).
