About The Position

The Pharmacy Tech (Non Certified) position at Food City involves providing and promoting efficient and courteous service to customers at all times. The role includes answering telephone inquiries that do not require a pharmacist's expertise, receiving written prescriptions or telephone refill requests, and gathering necessary information to prepare prescriptions. The technician will also record information needed before prescriptions can be dispensed, store written prescription forms after dispensing, and enter data into the computer. Additional responsibilities include stocking over-the-counter products, placing completed prescriptions in the pick-up area, assisting in preparing insurance claims and verifying payments, helping customers find over-the-counter products, maintaining a clean department and work area, and assisting in maintaining and stocking pharmacy department supplies. The position may also require operating a cash register and performing additional job duties as needed.
