About The Position

This position is responsible for the accurate assistance of pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care to both in-patients and out-patients. Computer entry and processing of patient drug orders; sterile and non-sterile preparations of liquids and solid dosage forms; care and ordering of supplies and equipment; training of trainees; processing of admittance, discharge and transfer of patient drugs; performing miscellaneous related tasks.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• The Alabama Board of Pharmacy must license the candidate, which is contingent upon becoming certified by the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within 6 months of employment
• Proficiency in written and verbal communications
• Mathematical calculations
• Typing of not less than 40 words per minute
• Computer literate
• Possess ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with the public
• Ability to perform within time frame without loss of accuracy
• Must be able to follow directions and to perform work according to department standards when no directions are given
