About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician Trainee position at Weirton Medical offers flexible working hours across all shifts. This role is designed for individuals looking to gain experience in the pharmacy field while receiving on-the-job training.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED equivalent.
• Basic to intermediate computer skills including the ability to learn new systems.
• Minimum of 500 hours required to complete the training.
• One year to successfully complete a national examination.
• Excellent typing skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with pharmaceutical products and distribution preferred.
• Experience in computer input with menu driven programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transcribes physician's written orders.
• Delivers requested medications to nursing stations and other hospital departments.
• Replaces floor stock and prepares IV admixtures.
• Maintains pharmacy workroom in clean and orderly condition.
• Charges replacement vouchers and fills medication bags.
