About The Position

The Pharmacy Tech (Non Certified) position at Food City involves providing and promoting efficient and courteous service to customers at all times. The role includes answering telephone inquiries that do not require a pharmacist's expertise, receiving written prescriptions or telephone refill requests, gathering necessary information to prepare prescriptions, and recording information needed before prescriptions can be dispensed. Additionally, the pharmacy tech will store written prescription forms after dispensing, enter data into the computer, stock over-the-counter products, and place completed prescriptions in the pick-up area. The position also involves assisting in preparing insurance claims, verifying payments, helping customers find over-the-counter products, maintaining a clean department and work area, and assisting in maintaining and stocking pharmacy department supplies. Additional job duties may be assigned as needed, and the pharmacy tech will also operate the cash register.
