Pharmacy Tech Lead - IV Compounding
About The Position
Position Summary: Under the direction of a Registered Pharmacist, assists Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. Assists Pharmacist in coordination of technician activities for a shift, or a functional area within the pharmacy. Assists Manager in training, competency validation, coaching of staff for adherence to standard work, maintenance of key records, and is a content expert for the primary area of assignment. Provides courteous, cooperative, and timely service to patients, visitors and staff.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- Certified and licensed as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in the State of Michigan.
- Minimum five years of inpatient pharmacy work experience.
- At least two years as a Pharmacy Technician IV with consistent experience making simple and complex IV Admixtures, including chemotherapy and other hazardous medication compounding.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician training program
- Two years of college with emphasis in math, science, or medical field applications.
- Completion of PTCB Advanced Pharmacy Technician Certificate preferred.
