About The Position

Position Overview: Inpatient Pharmacy Tech II assists the Pharmacy department by preparing or distributing medications for use by patients. Inpatient Pharmacy Technician II must be capable of performing all duties responsibly. Under the direction of a licensed pharmacist, Inpatient Pharmacy Technician II transcribes abbreviated and symbolized information from physicians’ orders onto patient medication profiles through manual and computer entry; selects and/or prepares medications, pharmaceutical products, intravenous admixtures; performs repetitive and manipulative activities which primarily consist of drug distribution duties, pre-packaging, stocking and maintaining drug inventory in the automated dispensing cabinets and Carousel, sterile and non-sterile compounding, record keeping, billing; ensures medication security.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • Three (3) years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid CA Pharmacy Technician registration
  • Completion of CMH sterile compounding core skills evaluation within ninety (90) days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Pharmacy Technician Board Certified Certificate from college or technical school
