About The Position

The Inpatient Pharmacy at Freeman Health System is a fast-paced, high-energy department that collaborates closely with practitioners and nursing staff to deliver quality patient care. The pharmacy plays a crucial role in patient care by ensuring medication availability, delivering medications directly to patient care areas, and maintaining inventory in medication dispensing machines throughout the system. The department comprises over eighty energetic, hard-working, compassionate team members. Freeman Health System is the only locally owned, not-for-profit health system in the area, focusing on meeting the health and wellness needs of the communities it serves and its employees. Located in Joplin, Missouri, Freeman is a 460-bed, three-hospital system offering comprehensive healthcare services to over 450,000 people across Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas. It includes Freeman Hospital West, Freeman Hospital East, Freeman Neosho Hospital, Ozark Center (the largest provider of behavioral health services), two urgent care clinics, numerous physician clinics, and various specialty services.

Requirements

  • Current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) national certification or Exam for Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT).
  • Registration with valid licensure as a Pharmacy Technician with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy or current Missouri Pharmacy Intern License.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Clean Driving Record

Responsibilities

  • Responds to the needs of the department, nursing and physician staff and patients.
  • Ensures delivery and availability of medications to patient care areas
  • Performs necessary pharmacy module functions
  • Monitors functionality of pharmacy equipment and performs necessary routine maintenance
  • Assists in inventory management
  • Performs clerical duties as required.
