Position Summary Job Location: 2969 Mapunapuna Place Suite 105 Honolulu, HI Work Hours: Rotating shift (weekly) : Monday--Friday 8am--4:30pm, 8:30am--5pm This position is responsible for answering inbound calls, understanding the reason for the call, and knowing how to assist which includes knowing when to transfer the call to a Pharmacist. Outstanding customer service is needed which includes professionalism, patience, understanding, and empathy towards our customers. Being able to de-escalate the call. Technicians are also responsible for learning various queues and working them in an efficient and timely matter Technicians will be responsible for being up to date with Work Instructions that pertain to their duties Technicians will also need to interpret and input new prescriptions into the computer Technicians will also need to make outbound calls to members and prescriber offices for prescription clarifications, address and shipping verifications, payment issues, and any clarifications needed by the pharmacist Must adhere to pharmacy regulations, policies, and procedures, including privacy and security protocols. Ensure compliance with applicable Federal and State laws and regulations. Performs duties associated with filling prescriptions in the pharmacy including the automated drug dispensing system (PPS, FF54, optifill) and manual pick. Pack and Ship prescriptions in the pharmacy May perform other related Technician duties as business needs require to fulfill customer prescriptions.

Requirements

  • Must be a Hawaii Technician Registered as of January 1, 2026
  • Minimum of one to three years' experience in customer service or a related role, including experience in research and problem resolution.
  • Strong skills in the area of research, analysis, and problem resolution.
  • Proficient computer skills and strong data entry skills are required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively with plan members.
  • Ability to prioritize and quickly adapt to changing needs in the department.
  • Ability to read written prescriptions, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Health insurance background and knowledge of pharmacy terminology, desired.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification
  • 3 to 5 years prior work experience
