Supports the prescription fulfillment process under pharmacist supervision, including data entry, preparation, counting, labeling, packaging, and distribution of medications. Assists pharmacists with workflows specific to high-touch specialty and oral oncology medications. Communicates with patients and caregivers to coordinate refills, resolve routine questions, and support timely medication access. Coordinates with the oncology care team to support efficient prescription processing and continuity of care. Performs inventory management activities including ordering, stocking, and monitoring specialty medications. Maintains accurate pharmacy records and documentation in accordance with policies and regulations. Follows all applicable state and federal regulations and specialty pharmacy policies. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician
  • 2 years retail or inpatient pharmacy technician experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Current PTCB or NHA certification required.
  • Active Certified Registered Pharmacy Technician license with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of pharmacy technician experience.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with patients, caregivers, and healthcare teams.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty pharmacy, oncology, or high-touch patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists pharmacist in total prescription filling process; data entry, inventory monitoring, counting, labeling, ordering, stocking, filing, and selling of prescribed and OTC products.
  • OTC merchandising
  • Help health care providers and patients in person and by phone; answers questions and requests; referring to pharmacist when appropriate.
  • Comply with state and federal drug laws, KHN policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
