The Pharmacy Technician II assists the Pharmacist in the preparation of prescriptions as permitted by state law.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• TSBP Registration
• 2+ years of retail pharmacy experience Or Completion of an Accredited Pharmacy Technician Program
• Math cash handling experience. Demonstrated ability to add and subtract; ability to make change; ability to complete daily cash report
• Demonstrated ability to read merchandise labels and invoices; to ask and answer questions over the phone; to write information on prescriptions
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with customer to handle complaints and problems
• Demonstrated ability to operate computer terminal for processing prescriptions
• Ability to type 20 WPM
• Proven stress tolerance - to receive prescriptions and ring up sales in a fast-paced environment
• Proven ability to work in fast paced environment, and maneuver around pharmacy
• Driver's License and access to reliable transportation

• HMO and 3rd Party Managed Care experience
• 10 key by touch experience
• Proven ability to know when to refer questions, problems, and complaints to a pharmacist

Responsibilities

• Maintains good customer service by accepting prescriptions or refill requests, processing sales and answering questions for customers
• Achieves customer satisfaction by promptly processing prescriptions, sales transactions, and answering questions
• Other duties include stocking and pricing over the counter (OTC) items, maintaining the OTC areas, processing clinic medication requisitions, and other duties as required by the pharmacist
