Pharmacy Tech I
About The Position
POSITION SUMMARY: Assists the pharmacist in preparing medications for dispensing. Does not dispense any medication that isn’t double checked by a registered pharmacist. Is directly responsible for running the pharmacy robot and maintaining stock in automated dispensing cabinets. Draws up doses in the IV class 10,000 clean room utilizing a class 100 laminar flow hood and aseptic technique. Performs pharmacy stock QA inspections on all nursing units. Makes delivery/pickup rounds to unit and departments and performs computer order entry functions. Completes other tasks as assigned by supervisors/pharmacists. Provides customer service by processing paper, electronic and phone requests for medications.
Requirements
- High School diploma required.
- Some previous pharmacy related or hospital clinical background preferred.
- Participates in orientation and continuing education and updates and maintains knowledge and skills related to specific areas of expertise.
- Pharmacy Tech I : Less than one year of experience, or 1+ years of experience without a Pharmacy Technician certification

- Preference will be given to nationally certified pharmacy technicians.
