Requirements
- High school diploma OR GED OR completion from an accredited program
- TSBP Registration
- 6+ months of pharmacy tech experience OR experience as a pharmacy service representative OR completion from an accredited program
- Ability to operate computer terminal for processing prescriptions
- Ability to type 20 WPM
- Stress tolerance – to receive prescriptions and ring up sales in a fast paced environment
- Physical Stamina – to work in a fast paced environment, and maneuver around the pharmacy
- Ability to read merchandise labels and invoices; to ask and answer questions over the phone
Nice To Haves
- Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program
- PTCB Certification
- HMO and 3rd party managed care experience
- 10 Key Touch
- Know when to refer questions, problems, and complaints to a pharmacist
Responsibilities
- Assists the Pharmacist in the preparation of prescriptions as permitted by state law
- Maintains good customer service by accepting prescriptions or refill requests, processing sales and answering questions for customers
- Achieves customer satisfaction by promptly processing prescriptions, sales transactions, and answering questions
- Other duties include stocking and pricing over the counter (OTC) items, maintaining the OTC areas, processing clinic medication requisitions, and other duties as required by the pharmacist
- Be able to drive to all pharmacy locations to cover shifts and must be flexible and willing to change work schedule with little or no notice
