Requirements

  • High school diploma OR GED OR completion from an accredited program
  • TSBP Registration
  • 6+ months of pharmacy tech experience OR previous experience as a pharmacy service representative OR completion from an accredited program
  • 10 Key Touch experience
  • Ability to operate computer terminal for processing prescriptions
  • Proven ability to communicate with customer to address complaints and problems
  • Stress tolerance - to receive prescriptions and ring up sales in a fast paced environment
  • Physical Stamina - to work in a fast paced environment, and maneuver around the pharmacy
  • Proven ability to read merchandise labels and invoices; to ask and answer questions over the phone
  • Proven ability to communicate with customer to address complaints and problems
  • Driver's License and access to reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program
  • PTCB Certification
  • HMO and 3rd party managed care experience
  • Ability to type 20 WPM
  • Know when to refer questions, problems, and complaints to a pharmacist

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Pharmacist in the preparation of prescriptions as permitted by state law
  • Maintains good customer service by accepting prescriptions or refill requests, processing sales and answering questions for customers
  • Achieves customer satisfaction by promptly processing prescriptions, sales transactions, and answering questions. Other duties include stocking and pricing over the counter (OTC) items, maintaining the OTC areas, processing clinic medication requisitions, and other duties as required by the pharmacist
  • Be able to drive to all pharmacy locations to cover shifts and must be flexible and willing to change work schedule with little or no notice
