About The Position

The Advanced Pharmacy Technician at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center is a full-time position requiring 80 hours per pay period on a night shift schedule, specifically a 7 on 7 off overnight rotation. Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center is an award-winning facility with 468 beds, recognized for its advanced care in various medical fields including stroke recovery, bariatric surgery, and robotic surgery. The role involves working with state-of-the-art technology and providing excellent service in various pharmacy functions under the supervision of a pharmacist.

Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience or two (2) years with State approved certification.
• Must meet the standards for achievement of the required license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
• Tennessee Board of Pharmacy requires newly hired probationary employees to be licensed by the end of their first 90 days of hire and to maintain their Technician License in active status thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Performs all position accountabilities and performance criteria for level I and level II technicians.
• Assists the pharmacist in the training of technicians in levels I and II.
• Initiates and/or coordinates improvement activities as appropriate.
• Assists in the implementation of new projects including the development of policies and procedures.
• Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards.
• Completes required education assignments annually.
• Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
