About The Position

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Pharmacy Supervisor for our Pharmacy Department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Pharmacy Supervisor you will: • Work with pharmacy leadership team, to develop, implement, monitor, and improve pharmacy procedures and workflows to maintain a safe, efficient, and effective operation. • Manage personnel functions including recruitment, training, scheduling, initial/annual competencies, performance development, engagement, coaching, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions for all pharmacy technicians, including Lead Technician, Inventory Technician, and Sterile Compounding Lead Technician. • Initiate, implement, and monitor continuous quality improvement projects. • In conjunction with the pharmacy leaders, ensures compliance with regulatory, accreditation, quality, legal, USP and other industry standards. • Interface with medical, nursing, and other departments/staff members to address and resolve customer service issues. • Responsible for oversight of monthly unit inspections. • Lead and/or participate in intra- and inter-departmental committees and meetings as applicable. • Function as Pharmacist/Charge Pharmacist as required.

Requirements

  • Graduation from accredited pharmacy school with PharmD or B.S. Pharmacy
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical pharmacy experience in an acute care hospital setting
  • Current Maryland Board of Pharmacy License, in good standing

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Business Administration or Master of Healthcare Administration
  • ASHP accredited PGY1 and PGY2 residency in Pharmacy Administration
  • Previous leadership experience in an acute care hospital setting
  • Board Certification
  • ACLS Certification (or PALS & NRP certifications)
  • Member of American Society of Health-system Pharmacists (ASHP), and/or Maryland Society of Health-system Pharmacist (MSHP), or other relevant professional organization
