About The Position

Hartford HealthCare's Pharmacy System has grown to include 8 inpatient pharmacies, 9 cancer center infusion pharmacies, 3 retail pharmacies, and our Ambulatory Care pharmacy department supporting more than 50 medical office practices. Collaboration between our numerous pharmacy services and other members of the health care team is key to our commitment to continually improving how we provide patient care. We work hard to support our pharmacists in their efforts to optimize safe, effective, and efficient pharmaceutical care for all the people we serve. We provide our pharmacists with the tools they need to be at their best, including access to advanced resources and state-of-the-art pharmacy software. The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute-care community teaching hospital, we provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery, as well as a wide variety of specialties. Staffed by our talented team of leading professionals, The Hospital of Central Connecticut provides a wide array of services throughout the region, caring for patients from birth through the end of life. In consultation with Pharmacy Manager and Director, the Pharmacy Supervisor establishes and implements policies, procedures, and standards to help ensure efficient workflow and patient care in a defined area or work group. The Pharmacy Supervisor provides direct supervision to defined group of staff in defined area. Collaborates with stakeholders outside of department to ensure work group is meeting customer expectations. Provides pharmacist clinical guidance to area of focus and has ability to staff in pharmacist role in work group.

Requirements

  • PharmD degree from an accredited college of pharmacy or licensed Pharmacists prior to 2002 Bachelor's degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • 1 year of pharmacist experience within area of hiring department, 3 years preferred or
  • 3 years of general pharmacist experience including 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Licensed as a registered Pharmacist in Connecticut or eligible to receive licensure within 45 days

Nice To Haves

  • Masters Degree in Business or Health Care administration preferred
  • Board Certification in area of Clinical Pharmacy practice for defined work group preferred
  • Lean or Six Sigma Certification preferred

Responsibilities
