The Pharmacy Supervisor is responsible for ensuring an efficient and effective workflow in all pharmacy areas, including the central operations of the main hospital pharmacy, the sterile operations of the cleanroom pharmacy, and the satellite operations. This role involves handling and resolving complex issues and complaints, performing the duties of a pharmacist as needed to fulfill required service levels, and providing administrative support and supervision of pharmacy staff. The supervisor may work in centralized or decentralized areas and is accountable for customer services to inpatient and outpatient care areas, including night operations oversight. This position coordinates the day-to-day personnel assignments and activities of the pharmacists to assure that all processes are completed in a timely manner and according to the pharmacy's stated goals. The Pharmacy Supervisor trains and manages members of the pharmacist team, enforces departmental and pharmacy policies, and initiates development plans as needed to assure regulatory compliance and optimal service standards. Additionally, the supervisor is responsible for direct oversight of operations, including medication dispensing programs, pharmacy automation, and medication inventory to ensure the effective and timely provision of pharmacy services and medication therapy. Supervises staff to ensure accurate evidence-based medication services are provided to patients and pharmacy support services are available to medical and nursing staff to improve medication utilization and enhance treatment outcomes. Actively participates in operations as a regularly scheduled pharmacist and is committed to outstanding customer service, maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Graduate of an accredited pharmacy school.
  • Three years of hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Applicable state pharmacy license.
