About The Position

The Pharmacy Supervisor is responsible for ensuring an efficient and effective workflow in all pharmacy areas. Handling and resolving complex issues and complaints when necessary. They may perform the duties of a pharmacist as needed to fulfill required service levels. The Pharmacy Supervisor also provides administrative support and supervision of pharmacy staff. May work in centralized or decentralized areas.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient and effective workflow in all pharmacy areas.
• Handle and resolve complex issues and complaints.
• Perform pharmacist duties as needed to fulfill service levels.
• Provide administrative support and supervision of pharmacy staff.
• Assist with new employee orientation.
• Maintain operational expertise in pharmacy services.
• Oversee medication automation, technology, and computer systems.
• Manage medication inventories and prepare patient-specific medication doses.
• Supervise pharmacy technician, resident, and intern practice.
• Complete critical medication order scrutiny and drug profile review.
• Provide patient-centered care services and promote cost-effective drug therapy.
• Facilitate medication safety practices and manage medical emergencies.
• Participate in continuous learning and pharmacy practice development.
