About The Position

The Pharmacy Student Success Coach at St. John Fisher University plays a vital role in supporting students in the Wegmans School of Pharmacy by helping them navigate their academic journey. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience required.
  • Master's degree and at least 1 year experience with student affairs or health profession education preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience supporting students in both individualized and group settings.
  • Ability to work with a diverse student population.
  • In-depth knowledge of academic success strategies, such as time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Self-motivation and strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with common office programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior working knowledge of basic office/teaching machinery (e.g., copier/printers, scanners, projectors).

Responsibilities

  • Support Wegmans School of Pharmacy students in navigating their academic journey.
  • Identify challenges and provide resources to enhance student success and retention.
  • Collaborate with the student success network, faculty, and administration.
  • Provide individualized and group support to address non-academic challenges impacting student success.
  • Establish a trusting environment for students to share their thoughts and concerns.
  • Create individual development plans and facilitate reflective exercises with students.
  • Serve as a member of the Student Success Committee, maintaining connection with students on hybrid plans and Leave of Absence.
  • Develop, curate, and disseminate resources to support student success, including workshops and support programs.
  • Collaborate with faculty to deliver transitional programming for incoming students.
  • Support student success programming, such as orientation and immersion experiences.
  • Coordinate the facilitation of student make-up exam sessions.
  • Track, monitor, and record student completion and program outcomes.
  • Review and develop action plans based on student and faculty feedback.
