Requirements
- High School Diploma and actively enrolled in an accredited college of pharmacy
- Must be currently enrolled in an Accredited Pharmacy School.
- Registered with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern
- Up to 1 year of experience in a related field
Responsibilities
- Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, supervisor, or director of pharmacy services, the Pharmacy Intern performs a wide variety of technical and clerical duties for the hospital-wide unit-dose drug distribution system and intravenous admixture program.
- Responsibilities include maintaining confidential reports, entering and retrieving data using the computer system, preparing intravenous medications (including chemotherapeutic preparations, hyperalimentations, and antibiotics), pre-filling patient cassette drawers with a 24-hour supply of unit dose medications, procuring and filling requests for pharmaceutical supplies, and delivering supplies to nursing units.
