About The Position

The Pharmacist Site Lead at Essentia Health is responsible for overseeing pharmacy operations, ensuring the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions, and providing comprehensive pharmacy services. This role involves direct patient care, medication management, and collaboration with healthcare teams to enhance pharmaceutical care and optimize workflow within the pharmacy department.

Requirements

• Graduate of a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (BS or PharmD degree required)
• Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the Board of Pharmacy of the state in which they will be working (Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota)
• ASHP-Accredited Hospital Residency, or three or more years of hospital pharmacy experience preferred

Nice To Haves

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Supports Pharmacy workflow development and optimization
• Communicates with inter and intradepartmental pharmacy
• Reviews, develops, and implements quality improvement tasks
• Attends Hospital and Pharmacy meetings as assigned
• Performs daily medication monitoring, distribution, and acquisition duties
• Conducts medication reconciliation, anticoagulation dosing and monitoring, and pharmacokinetic monitoring
• Provides medication-related consultative services to staff within Essentia Health
• Assists in training new staff and precepting pharmacy students, interns, and residents
• Handles billing, record keeping, and monthly audits
