About The Position

A pharmacy resident is a licensed pharmacist enrolled in a twelve-month training program in pharmacy practice. Residents perform all duties of a clinical pharmacist and clinical pharmacy specialist and are involved in a number of departmental and hospital wide projects. Residents are also involved in precepting students from various schools of pharmacy.

Requirements

Requires a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited school of pharmacy.
Must have an active Alabama Pharmacy Intern License upon hire.
A license to practice pharmacy in Alabama is required within 90 days of the date on which residency training was begun (exceptions may be granted for extenuating circumstances beyond the resident's control).
Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
Must be proficient in mathematics.
Must be able to manage time wisely to complete necessary projects.

Nice To Haves

Previous intern experience preferred.
