Walgreens Community-Based Pharmacy Residency Program is a postgraduate training opportunity for pharmacists to enhance their skill set in the community pharmacy setting. The residency is academically affiliated and financially supported, in part, by the Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences. This residency will allow the pharmacist to build on their professional skills by providing a variety of patient care services. Pharmacists in this setting will have a direct influence on outcomes for patients who are traditionally underserved in a rural area. Residents will enhance patient care through participation in transitions of care appointments, immunization services, and Medication Therapy Management/medication adherence. Residents complete off-site rotations in specialty pharmacy and ambulatory care. The resident will complete a teaching certificate with Campbell University and engage in opportunities to advance leadership skills through partnerships with Walgreens leadership and the North Carolina Association of Pharmacy.
