About The Position

Provides clinical pharmacy services for assigned areas, while optimizing the quality of patient care under the supervision of a preceptor. Within the scope of their practice, Pharmacy Residents shall work collaboratively with all healthcare team members toward the best outcomes for both the patient and the organization. In addition, the resident provides competent, efficient and ethical pharmacy operations along with basic pharmacotherapeutic services for the assigned caseload of patients. Responsible for optimizing operations, drug therapy, and the quality of care in collaboration with the department staff, medical staff, and other clinicians. Demonstrate competent use of drug information resources, computer systems, and other technology utilized by the department. Participate in drug formulary monograph preparation, drug/medication use evaluation (DUE/MUE) programs, patient education, and improvement of departmental systems. Directly supervises technical staff.

Requirements

  • Require active Florida Pharmacist license. If no active Florida Pharmacist license, the resident must be registered as a Pharmacist Intern in the State of Florida and have an active Florida Pharmacist license within ninety (90) days of the start date. The 90-day pharmacist licensure requirement can be extended by up to 30 days at the discretion of the Residency Program.
  • Require the ability to obtain a level 2 AHCA clearance.
