About The Position

This position begins with an exciting opportunity to train onsite, Monday through Friday, for the first 8-10 weeks. This immersive experience ensures a strong foundation and connection with the team. After training, the position transitions to a remote schedule with alternating weekly shifts: Week A: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM ET Week B: 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM ET. Additionally, team members are scheduled to work one Saturday every three - four months from 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM ET. The Pharmacy Refill Technician plays a critical role in supporting pharmacy staff and Shields Health Solutions Liaisons. This position ensures the accurate and timely filling and delivery of specialty medications, enhancing patient care and optimizing pharmacy operations through effective communication and technology leverage.

Requirements

• State registration as a pharmacy technician; national certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician; 5-8 years preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and knowledgeable assistance to patients, providers, and pharmacy team members.
• Conduct outbound patient refill phone calls and complete requests promptly.
• Answer and triage inbound inquiries appropriately.
• Clarify prescription orders with pharmacists and clinicians.
• Coordinate medication refills, including data entry and claims adjudication.
• Ensure proper medication stock and identify special storage requirements.
• Document work and update data using database applications.
• Facilitate patient access to medications and support process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain confidentiality and participate in professional development.
