The MGH Pharmacy Receiving team oversees and participates in the successful intake of pharmaceutical items for the entire department and various outpatient clinics. Leveraging inventory technologies, team members work to accurately receive, stock, and distribute medications throughout the institution. Receiving staff operate within the MGH Pharmacy Supply Chain team, collaborating with healthcare personnel and vendors to ensure the highest quality of inventory management is delivered. Hours of operation are typically daytime weekdays with occasional Saturdays. Skills required for candidates include high attention to detail, the ability to lift and move heavy objects (between 25-50 pounds), ability to work independently, strong oral communication, and basic office place applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Outlook etc.). Under the direction of a staff pharmacist and/or pharmacy leadership team, follow established policies and procedures to perform a variety of routine support tasks that are integral to the operation of the pharmacy department. Tasks include, but are not limited to, preparation and distribution of unit dose medications, outpatient prescriptions, stock orders while maintaining the safe handling and integrity of medications. Tasks may also include responsibilities of technical training and participation in departmental projects. Staffing assignments will include roles throughout central pharmacy and designated specialized pharmacy areas.
