The position involves performing day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities, ensuring efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience. The role requires serving as a full-time certified pharmacy technician and operating pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the technician will supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers, ensuring compliance with company policies, laws, and regulations. Responsibilities also include the selection, scheduling, and development of pharmacy technician personnel, leading training, coaching, and performance management.

  • Ensure efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience.
  • Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers under the guidance of a pharmacist.
  • Select, schedule, and develop pharmacy technician personnel.
  • Lead training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technicians.
  • Engage customers and patients, resolving complaints and answering non-clinical questions.
  • Assist pharmacist in patient care delivery including registration, data entry, and medication preparation.
  • Manage core pharmacy workflow and drive excellence in pharmacy operations.
  • Prepare and file reports and records required by the company and government agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with business administrative activities and pharmacy inventory management.
  • Communicate prescription errors to the accountable pharmacist.
  • Assist in analyzing and improving pharmacy financials, operational quality, and customer service.
  • Manage Community Outreach Portal and coordinate off-site immunization clinics.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
  • Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Previous people management/leadership experience.
  • Previous work experience with Walgreens with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.
