The Pharmacy Operations Manager is accountable for performing day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities, ensuring efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience. This role serves as a full-time certified pharmacy technician, responsible for operating pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the manager supervises pharmacy technicians and pharmacy cashiers, overseeing their selection, scheduling, development, training, coaching, and performance management, including decisions regarding discipline and termination. The position involves engaging customers, resolving complaints, and enhancing the customer experience by focusing on healthcare services. The manager assists pharmacists in patient care delivery, including patient registration, prescription data entry, medication preparation, and patient/physician calls. They also support healthcare service offerings like administering vaccines and health screenings. Key operational responsibilities include delegating non-clinical work, ensuring timely task completion, managing core pharmacy workflow, coordinating daily schedules, recommending hour allocation, and maintaining pharmacy cleanliness and stock. The manager handles business administrative activities, inventory management, annual inventory preparation, non-clinical patient calls, and drives new technology/process rollouts. They are responsible for recordkeeping, security safeguards, adherence to Good Faith Dispensing policy, asset protection, and reporting prescription errors. Additionally, the role involves ensuring accurate insurance claim processing, supporting the Store Manager and Pharmacy Manager in improving financials and customer service, managing community outreach, and building retail partnerships. The manager is also responsible for technician hiring, onboarding, training, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and continuous professional development.
