About The Position
The Pharmacy Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the Director of Pharmacy in managing the pharmacy operations. The Pharmacy Operations Manager will implement and enforce policies and procedures, supervision and training of staff, inventory management, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. In addition, The Operations Manager shall assist in managing the pharmacy when the Pharmacy Director is unavailable. As a Bon Secours associate, you’re part of a Mission that matters. Requirements
- Graduate of an ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with a BS or PharmD (required)
- Pharmacist Licensure – State Board of Pharmacy (required)
- Demonstrates leadership competencies and skills for the position, including excellent communication, customer service, continuous quality improvement, relationship development, and decision making
- Possesses extensive knowledge of clinical practice or function and a thorough understanding of the organization and work environment
- must have flexibility, hospital experience with strong written/verbal communication, be extremely organized, be a problem-solver and contingency planner, dependable, and able to delegate
Nice To Haves
- Advanced pharmacy degree – Doctor of Pharmacy, Masters, Residency (preferred)
- 3 years of experience in a progressive hospital or healthcare system pharmacy leadership role (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Provides management and oversight of pharmacy-related activities within the department and supportive of system-level initiatives involving change and support for pharmaceutical care across the hospital
- Selects, trains, orients, and assigns department staff to schedules.
- Develops standards of performance, evaluates performance, and initiates recommendations for personnel actions
- Assesses and standardizes medication dispensing practices and pharmacy workflows and encourages team member growth and development
- Develop and actively participate in training and mentorship programs for pharmacists, pharmacy students, residents, technicians, nurses, and physicians
- Work with the Pharmacy Director to identify and develop processes to meet or exceed all regulatory standards
