About The Position

The position is accountable for performing day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities, ensuring efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience. The role serves as a full-time certified pharmacy technician responsible for operating pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, the position supervises pharmacy technicians and cashiers, ensuring compliance with company policies, laws, and regulations. The role also involves selecting, scheduling, and developing pharmacy technician personnel, leading training, coaching, and performance management.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities.
• Ensure efficient pharmacy workflow and a positive patient experience.
• Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and cashiers under the guidance of a pharmacist.
• Select, schedule, and develop pharmacy technician personnel.
• Lead training, coaching, and performance management of pharmacy technicians.
• Engage customers and patients, resolving complaints and answering non-clinical questions.
• Assist pharmacist in patient care delivery, including patient registration and prescription data entry.
• Manage core pharmacy workflow and drive excellence in pharmacy operations.
• Prepare and file reports and records required by the company and government agencies.
• Ensure compliance with business administrative activities and pharmacy inventory management.
• Communicate prescription errors to the accountable pharmacist.
• Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims and follow up with insurance companies.
• Manage Community Outreach Portal and coordinate off-site immunization clinics.
• Lead performance management of technicians, including discipline and termination decisions.
• Monitor pharmacy technicians' training completion and compliance with state and federal laws.
• Maintain PTCB certification and enhance knowledge related to pharmacy and healthcare.
• Communicate with pharmacy team and participate in key store/pharmacy meetings.
