The Pharmacy Operations Manager will assist the Pharmacy Manager - Correctional Health in providing overall leadership direction and management of all operation processes and initiatives within the system. The Pharmacy Operations Manager works closely to ensure the pharmacy provides optimal service, meets all legal and accreditation/certification requirements, and complies with all applicable policies and procedures, codes and standards of the facility and VytlOne.

  • Assist Pharmacy Manager and Correctional Health management to ensure the pharmacy provides optimal clinical services.
  • Meets legal and accreditation/certification requirements and complies with all policies and standards of VytlOne.
  • Work to assure compliance with service expectations and achievement of performance goals and objectives.
  • Assist in developing, reviewing and updating policy guidelines and other procedures.
  • Assist in providing appropriate technical and skills training for pharmacy staff.
  • Monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of processes and implement changes to increase efficiencies within all areas of pharmacy operations.
  • Prepare reports and maintain records / supervise the maintenance of records as requested or required.
  • Support the department by overseeing and participating in inventory management programs.
  • Identify unsafe/unsanitary practices in medication procurement, distribution.
  • Attend and participate in programs, committees, meetings and functions required by pharmacy department.
  • Ensure positive customer service; listen to and acknowledge all customer complaints, actively follow-up on response to all customer concerns.
  • Work cooperatively with other staff members to enhance the team concept.
  • Recognize positive behavior and contributions to the organization using praise, appreciation, and awards.
  • Adhere to staffing and expense budgetary guidelines.
  • Assist in budget preparation and analysis including the capital expense budget.
  • Participate in staff meetings and other aspects of the practice of pharmacy as required.
  • Assure all staff performance appraisals are completed and updated as required.

  • Complete required training and ensure the departmental staff training is completed as required.

  • Ensure staff is informed of product upgrades or enhancements in a timely manner.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency and Pharmacy Tech Certification required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Five years pharmacy experience.
  • Operational management experience.
  • Supervisory or Management experience.
