The Pharmacy Operations Coordinator (Assistant Manager) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the pharmacy, working closely with the Clinical Pharmacy Manager to ensure efficiency within the team. This role involves managing urgent personnel or operational issues as they arise and maintaining smooth pharmacy operations. Key duties include interpreting prescriptions, compounding, and dispensing medications per physicians' and authorized prescribers' orders. The coordinator provides essential medication information to patients and healthcare professionals, promoting safe and effective medication use. Under the guidance of the Clinical Pharmacy Manager, the Pharmacy Operations Coordinator handles various tasks with moderate supervision and exercises initiative and judgment to meet the pharmacy's needs. In the manager's absence, this role assumes full responsibility for pharmacy operations.

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D.
  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of Maryland
  • Certified by the Maryland Board of Pharmacy to provide vaccinations preferably upon hire and required within six (6) months of employment
  • Active CPR certification
  • Familiar with computer databases for retrieving clinical patient information and dispensing in a retail setting
  • Knowledge of state/federal laws and regulations pertaining to the receipt, storage and dispensing of drugs
  • Pharmacy Residency preferred but not required
  • At least two years retail outpatient pharmacy experience preferred
  • Two years' experience interpreting prescriptions, compounding and dispensing medications in a retail setting preferred
