Consonus Pharmacy is a closed-door long-term care pharmacy specializing in the needs of nursing facilities, assisted living residents, and their caregivers. We are currently hiring a Customer Support Nurse to join our team! Overview Customer Support is the fact finding, problem solving and customer-oriented department of Consonus Pharmacy. Customer Support fills the communication gaps between pharmacy, facilities and doctor's offices. As the Customer Support Nurse your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Complete clarification of orders Work with multiple EMR systems Communicate with nursing staff at facilities and doctors' offices Document and communicate actions, irregularities and continuing needs Compiles reports for facilities upon request Assure all new orders received from doctor's office are faxed to facilities for their records Obtain control medication quantities from doctors and/or their agents of the prescriber Serves and protects participating parties by adhering to professional standards, long-term care facility policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements Investigate discrepancies and errors involving both facility and pharmacy Submission of errors in Error Reports as needed Assists with STAT orders to facilities as requested and first dose medications to facilities via backup pharmacy

Requirements

  • Active LPN or RN license in the state that is also in good standing with the Board of Nursing
  • Minimum of 3 years nursing experience in long-term care preferred
  • Knowledge of prescriptions, medications, and pharmacy procedures/best practices
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to read and interpret RX orders
  • Intermediate computer skills required
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills required
