About The Position

In accordance with the plans and policies of Tampa Family Health Center, Inc. the Pharmacy Manager position is responsible for providing clinical pharmacy services to the highest standard pharmaceutical care principles for each patient within their area of responsibility.

Requirements

• Licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of Florida.
• Active and unencumbered license to practice pharmacy in the State of Florida.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Obtain a Statement of Completion Certificate from 340B UNIVERSITY ONDEMAND during first 2 weeks of employment.
• Complete annually - 340B University renewal course, Peer Review as well as Fraud, Waste and Abuse training.
• Maintain a valid BLS card (renew every 2 years).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Healthcare Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Assure safe, effective and cost effective use of drugs on behalf of the patient through the application of specialized knowledge, skills and professional judgment, while considering the patient's disease conditions.
• Maintains knowledge of age specific issues and applies that knowledge to the provision of care within our institution.
• Assure compliance with TCHC policies, procedures and practice guidelines.
• Maintains working knowledge on Florida Board of Pharmacy laws, rules and regulations.
• Provide drug information for physicians, nurses, and patients; utilizing specialized knowledge, critical thinking and available drug resources.
• Compliance with formulary management and therapeutic substitution initiatives.
• Assure on-going improvements in therapy and systems through collaborative problem solving, research and participation in the facilities and department's organizational performance initiatives.
• Maintains a working knowledge of 340b drugs policies and procedures.
• Provide direct supervision of pharmacy technicians. Responsible for overseeing and monitoring the daily activities of pharmacy technicians to appropriately maintain the provision of safe, timely and effective pharmaceuticals.
• Assists the pharmacy director and other staff in developing and maintaining quality assurance programs, new clinical services, an effective formulary, and appropriate policy and procedures.
• Assists in the development of protocols, guidelines and critical pathways.
• Participates in the training and development of pharmacy technicians and other health care disciplines as deemed appropriate.
• Participates as a member of multi-disciplinary and pharmacy committees as deemed appropriate by the Pharmacy Director.
• The position has independent responsibilities for organizing and planning ones work in order to accomplish daily responsibilities as well as broad goals and objectives.
• Assist in Adverse Drug Reaction and Medication Error reporting with ideas for prevention of future incidents.
• Maintain patient confidentiality standards.
• Assists the Pharmacy Director in preparing the department for JCAHO/AAA certification.
• Meets priorities as established by the Pharmacy Director.
• Responsible for communicating operational and personal concerns, and opportunities for improvement to department leadership.
• Responsible for maintaining the operations of individual pharmacy locations (i.e. daily cash, inventory, development and training of staff).
• Responsible for maintaining educational updates on CMS regulations (i.e. Fraud, Waste and Abuse).
