The Pharmacy Manager coordinates, organizes, plans and directs all administrative and operational activities of the Retail Pharmacy Department in coordination with the Director of Pharmacy Services and the Chief Operating Officer. The Pharmacy Manager establishes standards of quality, productivity and performance in accordance with LRH policies and procedures and requirements of State and Federal regulatory agencies while fulfilling the duties of a pharmacist such as dispensing medications and consulting with patients.

  • Works with Human Resources and the Director of Pharmacy Services to create applicable job descriptions and annual performance reviews for the LRH Retail Pharmacy Team.
  • Works with Pharmacy Services Director to review and revise applicable Policies and Procedures annually.
  • Initiates and implements quality improvement for the department in coordination with the Director of Pharmacy Services.
  • Works with Finance to establish annual budget and submits capital expenditures requests per policy.
  • Responsible for the planning, supervision, coordination and successful execution of Retail Clinical Pharmacy Services for LRH patients; offered in the outpatient setting and during transitions in care.
  • Partners with the Pharmacy Services Director to supervise departmental personnel including: hiring, orientation, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring, scheduling and evaluating performance, and initiates corrective and disciplinary actions.
  • Maintains knowledge of the 340B Program and its requirements, ensuring compliance.
  • Other duties, hours and LRH site placement may be assigned.
  • Understand local, state, and federal laws, rules and regulations governing the pharmaceutical care process, including drug preparation and distribution practices.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision and show sound judgement.
  • Ability to prioritize, make critical decisions, and respond quickly to emergency requests.
  • Ability to supervise others and delegate work appropriately.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken and written word.
  • Ability to bring about group/team solidarity to achieve a goal while following LRH policies and procedures.
  • Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
  • Understand and effectively use the LRH Electronic Medical Systems relevant to Retail Pharmacy operations.
