Nemours Children's Health is seeking a Pharmacy Manager (Operations) to join our pharmacy team in Orlando, Florida. Located in Orlando, Fla., Nemours Children’s Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated healthcare system. Our 130-bed pediatric hospital also features the area’s only 24-hour Emergency Department designed just for kids as well as outpatient pediatric clinics including several specialties previously unavailable in the region. In keeping with our goal of bringing Nemours care into the communities we serve, we also provide specialty outpatient care in several clinics located throughout the region. This position is responsible for managing Pharmacy operations within the Pharmacy Department and Pharmacy Services within the Nemours Children’s Hospital (NCHFL) and its affiliated clinics. The Operations Manager will work in conjunction with the AVP of Pharmacy Operations and NCH colleagues to develop, organize, implement, monitor and review Pharmacy Services. Specific focus will be on drug distribution, managing resources, and meeting the needs of internal and external customers. Plans, organizes, manages, and communicates effectively department activities. Develops goals and objectives, establishes and implements policies and procedures and protocols for Pharmacy Departmental operation. Participates in departmental strategic planning. Develops, plans, organizes, and determines operations and services to obtain objectives within budget in accordance with overall health system needs. Assists with department budget preparation; reviews compliance at established intervals. Assists the AVP of Pharmacy Operations in maintaining the compliance with JCAHO and other regulatory standards. Assists in the development and maintenance of departmental performance measures, reports and statistics, reviews departmental performance, effects change as needed to improve services provided and assures compliance with regulatory requirements. Develop standards of performance, monitors and supervises technical staff. Responsible for the coordination of staff development. Evaluates performance, monitors and supervises staff to ensure that services are provided with sufficient scope and coverage to meet the requirements/needs of the patient population and community serviced. Understands and participates in the development of the distribution of medications at NCH and its associated clinics. Can function as order entry pharmacist; receives and interprets physician medication orders and/or prescriptions written by physicians and other practitioners licensed by law to prescribe; reviews them for completeness and accuracy; guards against sensitivities, contraindications, duplications, and major drug interactions; verifies orders in pharmacy computer system when necessary. Great skills in building relationships both inside the Pharmacy Department and with customers outside the Pharmacy Department.
