About The Position

Sentara is hiring an Inpatient IV Pharmacy Technician at Marth Jefferson Hospital $5,000 Sign on Bonus for Qualified Candidates! Location: Charlottesville, VA Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk) Shift: Rotating/ Primary Days Hours: 6am-3pm (occasional evening and overnight coverage) Weekends: Every 3rd Weekend Holiday Rotation Hours will primarily be day shift between 6am and 3pm but may require availability in the evening or overnight hours to meet pharmacy staffing needs. The Pharmacy Tech II Clinical performs the technician responsibilities of clinical pharmacy care delivery under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner. Demonstrates advanced technical skills and ownership of the work area Demonstrates the ability to work independently defined areas of pharmacy practice competently Assumes local and/or system responsibility for assigned tasks related to advanced clinical job positions Participates in the training of new employees Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately Participates in clinical initiatives to continuously improve patient care Training in an advanced Clinical Pharmacy Technician job function In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital, located in Charlottesville, VA, is a Magnet status, 176-bed facility featuring all patient-friendly private rooms. Requirements

  • A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
  • Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
  • CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB (Required)
  • 2 Years Pharmacy Experience (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • 1 Year IV or Sterile Compounding Experience (Preferred)
