About The Position

Sentara is hiring an IV Pharmacy Technician for our Home Infusion Team Location: Chesapeake, Home Care Status: Full Time (40 hrs/wk) Shift: Rotating - 8 hour shifts Hours: 7am-7pm Weekend: Every 5th Saturday & On Call Friday-Monday Holiday : On Call Rotation The Pharmacy Tech II Clinical performs the technician responsibilities of clinical pharmacy care delivery under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner. Demonstrates advanced technical skills and ownership of the work area Demonstrates the ability to work independently defined areas of pharmacy practice competently Assumes local and/or system responsibility for assigned tasks related to advanced clinical job positions Participates in the training of new employees Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately Participates in clinical initiatives to continuously improve patient care Training in an advanced Clinical Pharmacy Technician job function In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned Sentara Health is a Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina based not-for-profit integrated healthcare provider that has been in business for over 131 years. Requirements

• A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice
• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
• CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB (Required)
• 2 Years Pharmacy Experience (Required)

Nice To Haves

• 1 Year IV or Sterile Compounding Experience (Preferred)
