We’re seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and hard-working part-time Pharmacy Inventory Assistant to join our incredible Veterinary Services Team. What you get to do: Managing Medication Inventory: This involves maintaining appropriate inventory levels; preventing shortages or overstocking; and ensuring proper storage, handling, and disposal of medications. Includes medications that are temperature-sensitive or controlled substances, vitamin supplements, and consumable medical supplies. Monitor and remove expired drugs and oversee disposal of those drugs. Dispensing Medications: Pour daily medications and update the medical record system (Tracks®). Procurement and Receiving: Tasks include coordinating with pharmacy leadership team to order medications and supplies, receiving shipments, verifying the accuracy and quality of received goods, and entering them into the inventory system. Research price comparisons and negotiate medication and supply costs. Maintain vendor packets and documentation for medication and consumables, update documents necessary to maintain these relationships. Maintain POs for vendors and update as needed. Record Keeping and Data Entry: Maintaining accurate and detailed records of inventory levels, using computerized inventory management software (Tracks®). Reporting: Preparing reports on drug usage, cost analysis, and inventory levels to assist with cost control and informed decision-making. Collaboration: work closely with SeaWorld Orlando Veterinarians and Veterinary Services Laboratory team (laboratory technicians, Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT), and Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLT/MLS) to manage the health of resident animal and rescue populations. What it takes to succeed: Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills, especially in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with computers and inventory management software. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with colleagues and animal husbandry teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Education and experience This position does not require formal training as a pharmacist or pharmacy inventory assistant; however, previous experience is highly desired. We welcome applications from those with any inventory, pharmacy, or veterinary assistant experience. Knowledge of pharmaceutical products and regulations is desirable. Hours and availability This is a part-time position. The exact schedule will be determined based on pharmacy and individual needs. Flexibility is essential!
