The Pharmacy Intern position at Rite Aid is designed for individuals who are currently enrolled in an accredited pharmacy program and are looking to gain practical experience in a retail pharmacy setting. The primary purpose of this role is to learn and develop the necessary skills and abilities of a pharmacist while under the supervision of a registered pharmacist. Interns will engage in various tasks that are essential to the pharmacy's operations, ensuring they are well-prepared for their future careers in pharmacy. Interns will be responsible for accepting customer and prescription information, including refill authorizations, from customers and doctor's offices. They will also participate in inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and will-calls to customers, and complete quality assurance duties in compliance with state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations. Flexibility in scheduling is required, as interns may need to work evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the pharmacy.
