Responsibilities Performs duties to assist the pharmacist in the procurement, distribution, documentation, and compounding related to drugs, solutions, and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for being familiar with dosages and volumes of medications and solutions associated with infant, pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients as it relates to medication compounding and dispensing. Functions in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations. Responsible as assigned for the admixtures of medications to IV solutions including but not limited to the preparation of unit dose syringes, chemotherapy medications, and compounding of solutions/medications used in the critical care and OR satellite areas. Maintains adequate stock levels in assigned areas. Provides drug information and patient education (under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist). Completes assigned projects that may include staff education and clinical data collection and analysis.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in, or acceptance to, an accredited school or college of pharmacy Required
  • Registration with the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy as an Intern or Pharmacy Technician Required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a pharmacy technician , but not Preferred
