Job Description Summary: This position is every other weekend during the school year and full-time during summer break. Pharmacy Internship license is required. P1's preferred. Under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist, performs any or all of the functions of the department as assigned according to established procedure. Based on ability, experience, and performance, performs the increasingly judgmental activities of a pharmacist pursuant to State Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations. Under supervision, gains the practical experience necessary to function competently and effectively upon licensure. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - High School Diploma. - Registration with The State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE Interns must be actively pursuing licensure as a Registered Pharmacist through completion of academic and/or post-graduate experience requirements. These qualifications can be met by active enrollment in a College of Pharmacy, or for international pharmacy graduates, satisfactorily passed the FPGEE and the TSE or TOEFL-ibt (these are completed through the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy [NABP]). All interns must have an active intern license prior to employment. Responsibilities And Duties: 25% Obtain, prepare, and label pharmacy products according to department policy for final distribution. 15% Under the direction of a registered pharmacist, review and interpret orders for pharmacy products needed for patient care, perform any necessary interventions, and process according to department policy and procedure. 15% Produce billing, monitoring, and usage documentation of pharmacy products for proper billing and inventory purposes. 5% Maintain sufficient inventory of pharmacy products to enable efficient distribution. 10% Provide information via phone/in person to other healthcare professionals and/or customers. 5% Submit medication charge data to assure proper reimbursement. 5% May assist in training technicians, externs and interns in technical aspects of duties. 5% Participate in special projects when necessary.
