Requirements

  • Current enrollment as a Pharmacy Student.
  • Current State Board of Pharmacy Certificate of Pharmacy Intern

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Pharmacist in the support of the drug distribution systems, including patient counseling and pharmacokinetic calculations
  • Participates in performance improvement and data collections activities
  • Responsible for dosage preparation
  • Preparation of sterile admixture using aseptic technique
  • Floor stock delivery
  • Pre-packaging
  • Billing
  • Receiving, and stocking
  • Inventory control
  • Controlled substances distribution, documentation and accountability
  • Assisting in the inspection of medication storage areas throughout the hospital
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the department
  • Participates in providing pharmaceutical care for the following age groups: neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the Pharmacist
