Requirements

  • High School Grad or Equivalent Required.
  • Pharmacy Intern (PHARMINTERN) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Contemporary hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provision of medication distributive functions and pharmacy operational tasks.
  • Assisting the pharmacist with all duties of preparing and dispensing of medications.
  • Inventory management and regulatory compliance.
  • Accurately responding to medication dispensing requests.
  • Preparing medications for pharmacist final review/check.
  • Delivering checked medications and returning unused or expired medications to appropriate pharmacy areas.
  • Patient care interactions allowed according to State Pharmacy Intern licensure under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Participating in outstanding customer service and maintaining respectful relationships.
  • Maintaining proficiency in operational programs, dispensing and compounding activities.
  • Prioritizing activities to ensure accurate, safe, timely, and appropriate medication availability.
  • Using effective negotiation skills to resolve conflicts.
  • Assuring continuity of pharmaceutical care between shifts and among staff.
  • Assisting pharmacists with patient care activities and regulatory compliance tasks.
  • Supporting medication-use process improvements and carrying out special projects or assignments.
  • Facilitating medication safety practices and continuous quality improvement.
  • Identifying, mitigating, and reporting potential and actual medication errors.
  • Handling, processing, and appropriately disposing of all waste materials.
  • Promoting cost-effective drug therapy and participating in stewardship and medication waste prevention programs.
  • Participating in departmental meetings and educational activities.
