Organization: Pharm Inpt Staff Education Job Summary: Performs tasks within the pharmacy in direct support of the ongoing duties and responsibilities of a pharmacist with occasional guidance. Tasks performed contribute directly to the preparation and/or dispensing of a final dosage form for administration to a patient and are directly supervised by a pharmacist. Provides customer service by answering phone requests and triaging calls to the appropriate person if they cannot answer the requested information. Applies departmental processes regarding inventory control. . Position Highlights Inpatient adult pharmacy at Vanderbilt University Hospital. Must be actively enrolled in a school of pharmacy in order to be considered. P1, P2, and P3 will be considered. Start date will be 5/11/26. Every 3rd weekend both Saturday and Sunday with hours of 6:00am - 2:30pm or 2:00pm - 10:30pm. 4-hour medication history shift every other week during the academic year. Summer break includes 40-hour work weeks for 8 weeks with hours of 6:00am - 2:30pm or 2:00pm - 10:30pm. Must work 4 days during winter break, aside from designated holidays and weekends. 3 holidays/year assigned.
Requirements
- Must be actively enrolled in a school of pharmacy in order to be considered.
- P1, P2, and P3 will be considered.
- High School Diploma or GED
Responsibilities
- Assists the pharmacist in the preparation, dispensing and/or distribution of medications.
- Applies departmental processes regarding inventory control.
- Performs activities as directed by Pharmacists and/or Pharmacy Managers in accordance with federal, state, and local laws/regulations and hospital policies.
- Delivers outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Operates computer systems and utilizes technology.
