About The Position

The Pharmacy Informatics Training Coordinator is responsible for implementing and maintaining pharmacy information and technology processes. This role involves training pharmacy staff on various systems, managing narcotic operations, and ensuring compliance with software and hardware requirements. The coordinator supports the mission of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Hospital by enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of pharmacy operations.

Requirements

• Pharmacist Licensure from the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy or eligibility for licensure in Maryland within three months of employment.
• Bachelor of Science in pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Minimum of 5 years pharmacy experience.
• Effective communication skills in English (speaking, writing, and comprehension).
• Ability to work cooperatively with hospital and pharmacy staff.
• Knowledge of software: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Understanding of complex workings within pharmacy software and hardware.

Nice To Haves

• ASHP accredited residency.
• Membership in ASHP.
• Experience with Pyxis technology support and maintenance.
• Advanced training in Cerner pharmacy systems.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain pharmacy information and technology-related processes.
• Direct the filling, emptying, and configuring of dispensing units.
• Generate reports and monitor narcotic use.
• Complete data backup for the pharmacy system.
• Train technicians and pharmacists on the operations of the CII safe, Pyxis workstations, and Pyxis Connect.
• Train technicians and pharmacists in the operation of Cerner PharmNet.
• Maintain communication with the software vendor regarding upgrades and compliance issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues regarding pharmacy software.
